How do you say “Bye” in Chinese? Let’s learn it together.
Here are four ways to express “bye” in Chinese.
This is the simplest one. Chinese people always use this one to say “good-bye” to a person, whether they will meet each other again or not.
See you (later).
Both 在 (zài) and 见 (jiàn) are the fourth tones, the falling tone.
If you know when you are going to meet a person again, for example, tomorrow, you can use this phrase
Míng tiān jiàn.
See you tomorrow.
You can simply add the word related to the time in the beginning to mean one you are going to see the person again. For another example,
Zhōu sān jiàn.
see you Wednesday.
